RIFLE SHOOTING.

CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB. Members of tho City and Suburbs Riflo Club fired the first competition shoot of the season over 200 yds. and 300 yds. at Penrose' on Saturday. Notwithstanding the unfavourable weather, some very creditablo scores were registered. Silver spoons were won by Rifleman A. G. Lowe in tho A grnde and by Rifleman Ck King in the B grade. The first, shoot of tho season was held by members of tho Akarana Defence Rifle Club at tho Penrose range on Saturday. Tho 200 and 300 yards' ranges were substituted for the,£oo and 700 yards' ranges owing to the bad weather conditions. Competitions were fired in A, B and C sections for trophies presented by Miss Reston, the president and Mr. D; Calder. In spite of tho conditions some good scores were recorded. Rifleman Tilsev scoring 3 points, Rifleman D. Monroe 2. and Rifleman A. W. Powell 1 point in the A section. Rifleman C. Marett registered 3 points, Rifleman E. Elliott, sen., 0 and Rifleman H. C. McQuaj-rio 1 point in the B section. Rifleman A. Elliott registered 3 points, Rifleman R. G. Sutherland 2 and Rifleman W. 11. Potter 1 point in tho C section. Rifleman R. Tilsey, C. Marett and A.
