PROBATION FOR TWO YEARS. A -youth aged 18, Lawrence Keith Harrison (Mr. Moody) pleaded guilty in the Police Court on Saturday to four charges of the theft of £2 10s 8d from a city firm. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., was on the bench. Senior-Detective Hammond said the accused was employed by the firm. Last Thursday a lady made a purchase, and instead of making out a docket the lad had taken the money and given her the change, amounting to 4s, from his pocket. The lady had mentioned the matter to her daughter, who also worked in the store. As a result investigations had been made and the lad had admitted committing further thefts. Mr. Moody asked that on account of his youth leniency should be allowed. Mr. Hunt: Very well, we will give you another chance. You will bo placed on prohation for a period of two years.
