Sir James Allen attended the unveiling of the Herries Memorial at Tc Aroha on Saturday and proceeded to Palmerston North last evening, en route to Flock House. Mr. H. Holland, M.P. for Christchurch North, and Mrs. Holland, Mr. A. F. Lowe, of Wellington, Clerk of Parliament, and Mrs. Lotfe, and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Maitland, of Hastings, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Peacock and Mr. and Mrs. L. Ashcroft Edwards, of Wellington, Mr. and"Mrs. H. Balfour Kinnear, of Picton, and Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Hamilton, of Christchurch, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. H. S. Druifl, and Mr. H. Evans, of London, Mr. D. J. Taylor, Mr. Percy Gill, Mr. G. A. Morant and Mr. A. G. Cate, if Wellington, and Mr. J. B. Clark, Mr. G- Gambles and Mr. B. Kale, of Christchurch, are at the Grand Hotel. Colonel F. H. Greenhough. New Zealand representative of Sir W. G. Armstrong, Whitworth and Company, and Mr. A. Whitley, of London, head of the company's civil engineering and hydro-elec-trical department, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. D. Brosnan, Mr. A. E. Selby, Mr. J. Nelson, Mr. C. E. Emery, Mr. A. Rope, Mr. L- E. Johnson, Mi;. A. J. Conway and Mr. E. H. Shepherd, of Wellington, Mr. J. F. Peake, of Christchurch,- Mr. J. R. Leggo, of Nelson, and Mr. A. Kennedy and Mr. W. T- Royal, of Palmerston North, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. Justice Adams will arrive in Auckland on Monday, October 25, to assist with sittings of tho Supreme Court, commencing on the following day. His Honor's visit will extend over several weeks, and he will be accompanied by Mrs. Adams and Miss Adams. Mr. Justice Stringer, who is at present in Wellington, will leave for Christchurch and Timaru. after the conclusion of the sittings of the Appeal Court, to preside over sittings of the Supreme Court there. He will also inspect the prison at Invercargill. He is expected to return to Auckland about the end of the first week in December.
