SUNDAY BROADCASTING.
Sir, —To " Disappointed Baekbiocker,'* and many others like him, who were expecting with keen interest the first Anglican service to be broadcast from the Auckland station an explanation is due. On Sunday a leak was discovered in the relay wire. The broadcasting company and the Post and Telegraph Department officers worked for hours 'to locate and remedy the defect, but it became clear about 4.30 p.m. that any attempt to broadcast must be a failure; there was no other course but to abandon it. I believe that some such explanation was made both before and after the broadcasting of the Pitt Street service, with the promise that the St. Mary's service should be broadcast on Sunday next (October 10). May I pay a tribute to the company, who gpared no effort last Sunday to keep faith with their listeners-in ? Perctyal James. St. Mary's Cathedral.
