PITT STREET CHURCH.
Sir, —In your interesting rep'ort of the recent jubilee of this fine old landmark I regret to find the name of the Rev. John Warren is not included among the manyworthy ministers who have been associated with it. In 1865 the writer was of mature age, living in the neighbourhood of Auckland, and attended Pitt Street opening services, which were conducted by Rev. John Warren at 11 a.m., by Rev. J. Hill, of St. James, 2.30 p.m., and by Rev. J. Bullor at 7 p.m. At that time it was generally agreed that: it was mainly due to Mr. Warren's outstanding character and great efforts that the church was built. As an instance, it was reported he not only subscribed handsomely in the first attempt to raise funds but later doubled his first contribution and again doubled it a second time, to three good figures. My only object in writing is that his good name, long and faithful service, may not be forgotten. OLD Aitckxander.
