HEALTH-GIVING GLASS.
ULTRA-VIOLET RAYS TEST.
SPECIAL WINDOWS IN SCHOOL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Heed. 9.35 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. G. As a sequel to an interesting health test the Smethwick Education Committee has decided to equip a number of schools, which are to be selected, with " vitaglass " windows. This now glass permits the passage through it of ultra-violet rays. " Vitaglass " windows were installed in a classroom of a school nino months ago and a class of boys, aged from 9 to 11 years, was subject to careful observation. The test showed that all the pupils gained considerably more in height, weight and colouring matter in bbod than boys in an adjoining classroom. Tho latter room was fitted with ordinary glass windows, which cut out tho ultra-violet vays almost comijlotely.
