PLAYERS WHO CHANGE OVER.
RESIDENTIAL QUESTION. THE ENGLISH LEAGUE OPPOSED. * » The proposal of the English Rugby League to remove the residential qualification of two, years placed on Rugby Union footballers desirous of -playing League football under its auspices was opposed by the New Zealand Rugby League last evening. Mr. J. Carlaw preside^. The unanimous decision of the council was that it strongly opposed any attempt to alter the existing agreement. It was pointed out that only six months ago the English League asked all overseas bodies to enforce the existing rules governing Rugby Union players. The council now saw no reason why the matter should be reconsidered.
