COMING AUCKLAND VISIT.
CITY COUNCIL TO PREPARE.
The matter of making suitable arrangements for the reception of the Duke and Duchess of York on their visit to Auckland early next year was mentioned by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, at the meeting of tho City Council last evening. He suggested that steps be taken at an early date to make preliminary arrangements for a suitable reception.
The Mayor said they should take action in order that the reception and entertainment of their Royal Highnesses may be worthy of the city. On his suggestion tho matter was placed in the bands of a social committee consisting of tho chairmen of tho various committees of tho council.
