CONTESTS IN BRISBANE.

Saturday. ■ Writing to M'r.-'Kitto.* chairman of the Wellington Centre of the' New Zealand Amateur Athletic, Association, Mr.. Guy, managar! of' the New' Zealand- team at the Australasian championships, held at Brisbane, makes an interesting comment on (he grounds, the training and the general performances of the team. . The letter was written before the championships concluded. After referring to the endless trouble'to get training grounds.' Mr. Guy says: "The parka in Brisbane and Sydney are fearful. Yon would not run. a dog on them in New Zealand. On the day the decathlon commenced (which was'also the day the letter was written) Harvey had a severe attack of dysentry, .but was carried through tor the doctor giving him a strychnine injection halt-an-hour before taking the field. Under the circumstances, his performance was full of merit.
