ROSEHILL MEETING.

NEW ZEALAND ENTRANTS. A good number of New Zealand horses were nominated for events to bo run at the. Rosehill meeting to be held to-day, but how many were paid up for on the date of acceptance has not transpired. Count Cavour, Runnymede, Limerick, Young . Lochinvar, Star Stranger. Royal Tea, Imperial Spark, Cawnpore Siaosi, Subdivision, Battlement, Reonui, Berinthia, Quaker Oats, Kaahumanu and Abarfeldy figured as entrants for various events. FORTHCOMING MEETINGS. AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB. The Avondale Jockey Club will hold its spring meeting at Ellerslio on Saturday and Monday, September 25 and 27. Nominations for the various handicaps, together with final payments for the Avondale Stakes and Avondale Guineas respectively, close with the aecretary, Air. A. J. At the annual meeting o£ the Waikato Racing Club yesterday Mir. G. W. Vercoe was re-elected president and Mr. F. R. Seddon. v.ice-president ot the club. Both were unopposed. Messrs. C. Christie, H Marsniand J. i raser. Smith, S. T«pp. 0.. Monckton and S. V. Taylor were appointed members ot the committee. Commenting on the report and balancesheet, Mr. Vercoo said that while the club could congratulate itself on two vory successful meetings, the financial results therefiom were not as good as could have been hoped. This was due largely to an, increase in the expenditure. The sum of £273 8a -Id had been transferred to accumulated funds. 1 his amount showed an improvement on last year. A number of improvements had been made to the course amounting to £1092 lis lOd. The cost of erecting new stables and alterations and additions to the existing buildings amounted to £1023 13s 10d. The following dates had been allotted for the spring and autumn meetings:—Spring: November 13 and 15. Autumn: April 30 and .May 2. The matter of improved, railway facilities had been, discussed with a representative of the railways, and it was expected that something permanent in this respect would result.
