Satisfactory progress is being made with the Ivaituna River Board's river improvement scheme and the dredge at Ford's cut has made great headway. Considerable activity is being shown in the flax industry in the district. An Auckland company has acquired over HMO acres on the Tumu swamp and has commenced the work of clearing the land preparatory f to planting it in flax.
