BANKRUPTCY CASES.
NUMBER OF DISCHARGES. AN APPLICATION REFUSED. CONTRACTOR'S SECOND FAILURE. Several applications for discharge from bankruptcy were heard by Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court yesterday. The application of George Edward Plunkett, contractor (Mr. Sneddon), was opposed by creditors, for whom Mr. Paterson appeared. Bankrupt admitted he had filed previously. " But that was 18 years ago," he said. " This is a bad case," remarked His Honor, in refusing the application. " Bankrupt had an earlier experience and yet liabilities on this occasion total £3276." The following were granted discharges: Thomas Alfred Brooker, butcher, Whangarei (Mr. Gittos; Hildebrand Tertius Hill, contractor, Thames (Mr. Napier); Albert Leonard Amos, farmer, Opotiki (Mr. Moody) ; Henry Hopper Adams, contractor, Auckland (Mr. Clarke) ; Richard George Millar, farmer, Thames (Mr. Watson); Amy Laird, grocer, Buckland's Beach (Mr. Thorne); Ernest George Bowden, carrier, Mount Eden (Mr. Nutsford) • Charles George Deans, farmer, Papatoetoo (Mr. Terry); Joseph Mercer, motor engineer, Auckland (Mr. Holmden).
