An interesting wedding wus mlenmisod at St. Benedict's Church on August 19,' when Miss . Kathleen McGarvey, of Symonds Street, Auckland, was married to Mr. Gordon Hassall, of Auckland. The bride, who was given away* by her brother, Mr. E. McGarvey, wore a frock of white chenille brocaded georgette trimmed with silver, and tho conventional veil and orange blossom. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaids. Misses E. McGarvey and K. Hassall, were frocked in apricot feorgetto trimmed with silver lace, and liases R. Coutts and 1?. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, woro a charming frock of ivory satin with godots of Brussels lace, hemmed with white fur. A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Mount Albert Methodist Church on Wednesday eveuing, August 11, when Miss Edith May Lockwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lockwood, of Mount Albert, was married to Mr. Walter Norman Ansell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W, Ansell, of Remuera. In front of tho altar stood an archway, in which snowdrops, jasmine and other white flowers were entwined among tho green, while wedding bells were suspended from ttie centra. Tho seats for the guests were indicated by white ribbons. The ceremony was performed by the Kev. Ashcroft. The bridegroom was attended by Mr,. Mervyn Adams, best man, and Mr. lfticttir MatheEon, groomsman. The bride entered the church with her father, Mr, W. Lockwood, nnd was attended by the Misses Mavis Guy and Nora Anself. She wore a lovely gown of white georgette, ac-cordion-pleated, over an underdress of silver lame, the georgette in tho bodice cut to reveal panels of the lame. Across the front of the waiiit a _ band of silver leaves made ft pretty finish. Her embroidered veil was held in nlaco by an Empire bandeau of tiny silver tissue leaves, and caught at each side by » cluster of orange blossoms. A bouquet of carnations, sweet petis. asparagus fern, Was carried.' The bridesmaids' frocks were of apricot georgette. Narrow-girdles of gold tissue were completed by a large rose, and trails falling to the hem of'tho skirt. Their veils consisted of accordionpleated apricot georgette attached to narrow headbands of vari-coloured posies and gold tissue leaves.
