«©— CROWDS TO VIEW BODY. STRANGE NEW YORK SCENES. PEOPLE INJURED IN RIOTS. FASCISTS AND OPPONENTS. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received 7.5 p.m.) Beater. NEW YORK, Aug. 25. Disorders and rioting occurred in New York to-day a? a result of the rush of people bont on viewing, the remains of Rudolph Valentino, the film actor, at the undertaker's establishment where they lie awaiting interment. Several people were injured. An order has now been issued by Mr. George Uiiman, who was deceased's manager, to bar tha public from seeing the body after midnight to-night. When Mr. Ullrnan arrived at the undertaker's he found a mob of 20,000 people struggling with the police in the effort to enter the building. "This has gone far enough," said Mr. Ullman. "The lack of reverence shown by the crowds and the disorders and rioting which have taken place force me to decide that at midnight the doors shall be closed to the public. "The body will be placed in a vault at St. Malachi's Church, where the funeral service is to be held, until Monday. It will be viewed only by friends and associates of the deceased." There is to bo no great funeral cortege on Monday. It will comprise only the hearse which will bear tha casket and one or two motor-cars to convey intimate friends. * In fear of a possible outbreak of hostilities between Fascists and anti-Fascists the police have been augmented at the undertaker's. A 'Fascist guard of honour has been stationed there in spite of the protests of the anti-Fascists. While the body was on view nearly 200 policemen hurried a seemingly endless line of people through the room at the rate of 80 a minute.
