AMATEUR BILLIARDS.
PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP. ROBERTS AND- WHITE IN FINAL. The Billiards, Limited, shield tournament was continued last evening at the showrooms of Billiards, Limited, the game between E. V. • Roberts and L. Rogers attracting a large gathering. .Roberts won by 500 points to 323. Rogers was first to get going but Roberts, by means of a 43. passed the hundred mark first, Rogers being only a few points behind. Roberts continued to play attractively and at the 300 mark had a good lead. He enrned applause with a very fine all-round break of 68. Rogers played in his usual Consistent style, but Roberts was even more consistent. The final scores were:—Roberts, SCO; Rogers, 323. The best breaks were:— Roberts (average 9): 43, 33, 08. 33, 21, 37, 25. 33 and 21. Rogers: 20; 40, 22, til and 35. M. D. White will meet Roberts in the final of 1000 up, played in two sessifins of 500, commencing this evening and concluding to-morrow evening. Tom Tothilf, v the English professional billiard player.\will give a lecture-demon-stration concerning the game at the Central Billiard Club, Hall of Commerce, this evenj ing commencing at G. 30. There will be no charge for admission.
