£36,000,000 WINDFALL.

GERMAN FAMILY'S FORTUNE. A telegram from Stolp, in Pomerania, recently brought the romantic story that an artisan family in that little town had inherited £36,000,000 from an intestate relative in America. The chief beneficiary, a widow of 60, who lives in two rooms of a dilapidated house in a mean street, expects to receive between £2,400,000 and £3,000,000. As a young man the accumulator of this huge fortune had a small cloth factory in Pomerania, but as a result of family dissensions he sold the business and went alone to America, where he became a prosperous shipowner. His name is givep as Stubbel.
