DARGAVILLE TO PUKEHUIA.

No information has reached Wellington regarding the proposal to shorten the route of the Dargaville-Pukehuia railway by three miles. , The Public Works Department states that a number of flying surveys have been made and are being made with the object of finding the shortest, least costly and most convenient route.
It is highly probablo that such a discovery has been made, but no report has yet come from the district office concerning it.
