TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening : —Fine weather will prevail over most of- the Dominion, with cold nights and frosts inland. Scattered showers are indicated in east coast and northern districts. Southerly to south-easterly winds, moderate to strong. Seas rough on east coast; moderate elsewhere. Barometer, midnight, 30.10 in.; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Piesent indications are for moderate to strong and decreasing southerly winds, veering to westerlies shortly southward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura. Weather cool and fair to cloudy generally, but showery for a short time Lougei on the East Coast of the North Island. The barometer is rising temporarily, RAINFALL RECORD.
