AN ELECTION BY LOT.
HOSPITAL BOARD CHAIRMAN. [by telegraph.—own correspondent. ] KAITAIA. Wednesday At an election by lot Mr. T. S. Houston was elected"chairman of the Mangonui Hospital Board. There were two nominations. Mr. C. Michie was nominated by Mr. D. Kitchen and seconded by Mr. D, Archibald, and Mr. T.l S. Houston was nominated by Mr. L. J. Matthews and' seconded by Mr. E. Evans. Two papers were put in a hat and Mr. Houston drew the one awarding the chairmanship.
