EXECUTIONS IN MEXICO.
ROMAN CATHOLIC PEOPLE. ARCHBISHOP'S ALLEGATION. TWO DAYS' BATTLE REPORTED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. Renter. MEXICO CITlu Augr. 11. A sensational statement has been made by Archbishop Leopoklo Flores, who has arrived in Mexico City from Michoacan. He informed the bishopric that two priests and between 27 and 37 Roman Catholic citizens were executed by the military authorities on August 1 and 2. They were charged with leading an uprising in opposition to the new religious laws. Archbishop Flores reported that disturbances occurred in the States ot Michoacan and Guanajuato. In the town of Zahuayo, he says, there was a battle between soldiers and citizens, which lasted two days. About 60 persons were killed. Disturbances also occurred in Acanibaro and Irapuato, according to the archbishop. The Students' Federation at Havana has sent to the President of Mexico, General Calles, a message in support of his religious legislation. —•*—
