TRADE OF VICTORIA.

DECREASE FOR LAST YEAR. The value of both imports to and exports from Victoria during the 12 months ended June 30 wa3 substantially lower than in the previous year, Tho total value of imports was £50,319,324, as compared with £54,289,690; that of exports was £32,957,263, as against £41,641,979. The falling-off iri the value of imports was mainly due to the large shipments of gold which were received during 1024-25. In that year imports of gold;, silver and bronze specie amounted to £4,542,371, whereas in the year under review only £47,935 worth arrived. Another item which showed a material was apparel, textiles, etc., of which the value of imports fell * from £16,706,884 to £14,689,884. An item which showed an increase was rubber and leather and manufactures; imports, in the year under review totalled £2,392,929, as against £1,232,936 in the previous year. Of exports, the largest detiftne was registered in foodstuffs of vegetable origin, of which the value in 1925-26 was on!v £7,144.890, as compared with £15.151,15*8 in 1924-25. A decrease from £6,919,460 to £5,685,496 in the value of animal foodstuffs was counterbalanced by an increase from £16,625,483 to £17,(595,621 in tho item wool and other animai products.
