REVALUATION OF PROPERTY, REQUEST TO : THE DEPARTMENT, [BX TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PT7KEXOHE, Thursday. . The Franklin County Council met today, the chairman, Mr. H. Wilcox, presiding. The request of six ratepayers for the formation of a special loan area to raise £250 for formation and metalling of Beatty's Road, Helvetia; was granted. It was resolved to ask the Valuation Department to revalue the properties. throughout the county, it being six years since the last revaluation. The clerk, Mr. Alan P. Day, reported that ho expected to receive the money for the following special loans during the coming monthKariotahi, £1000; Hull's Hermitage Road, £1200; Creamery Road, Waiau Pa, £2000; Tauranjjaruru Mam Road, £2200; Geraehty's Road, £150; Quito's Road, Mauku, £I4OO. A deputation representing motor-lorry , owners using the roads in the county asked that the council's classification of the roads be reconsidered- It was decided to adhere to the classification, as it had been so drawn as to impose the minimum hardship on carriers compatible with the conservation of ratepayers' interests. Mr. J. Dean, member for the Mercer riding, reported that the Ministor of Marine had undertaken to put £SOO on the Estimates for the proposed new wharf at Miranda. It was decided to ask the Government to defer proceeding with the Local Bodies' Loans Board Bill until local bodies had more time to oousider it.
