GIFT OF ADDITIONAL LAND. PALMERSTON NORTH SCHEME. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTfI, Tuesday. In fulfilment of a promise that the Palmerston North borough would donate half of Mrs. P. A. McHardy's property at Fitzherbert to the State, the rest being set aside as a borough reserve, conditional on the Agricultural College being established here, the Borough Council decided last evening to place a proposal involving £IO,OOO before the ratepayers. The portion proposed as a borough reserve contains an area of excellent native bush, while that to be given to the State is to form part of the college site.
