CONDUCTORS RIPORTED. SPECIAL MEETING TO-MORROW. x - A meeting of the Tramways Union to consider the reporting of two conductors for alleged breaches of duty will be held at the Trades Hall to-rnorrow morning. In one case, it is stated, a conductor was reported by a motorman and the former has been suspended, pending an inquiry. In the second case it is that an inspector made a definite;:statement that the conductor issued a wrong ticket. The circumstances are said to be that a passenger- was. found riding on the third section when in possession only of a ticket. Following the inspector's;- fe'port tne •'conductor was sus pended, for .three days, but at the inquiry the charge against him was dismissed and he was. reinstated.. » . The union takes exception in the first instance'"to-the motorman reporting a fellow-employee, as the tramways depart ment has its own officers to detect alleged breaches. In the second cjse exception is taken to the inspector "accepting the Word of a passenger before' that of one of the .'department's employees.
