NOVEL PLUNDER SCHEME.
THEATRE SET ON FIRE. BANDITS ROB AUDIENCE. OUTRAGE IN RUMANIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 7.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. BUCHAREST. July 27. A party of armed bandits carried out a novel scheme of wholesale plunder. They set fire to the Besalagu Theatre at liraila, Rumania, while an evening performance was in progress. When the building began to blaze some of tho members of the gang rushed into the auditorium and compelled tho panicstricken public to give up their valuables at the point of the revolver.
Other bandits invaded the dressing rooms behind the stage and carried off tho wardrobes of the actors and actresses.
Tho gang finally escaped in the general disorder.
