CRUSHED IN LOG-HAULER.
MAN'S CONDITION CRITICAL. ACCIDENT NEAR TE KUITI. [by telegraph.—press association.] TE KUITI, Tuesday, A shocking accident occurred at Te Mapara, 12. miles from Te Kuiti, to-day. A young man, John Murray, was leaning over a log-hauler to straighten the wire rope when the machine was put in motion. Murray was caught between the rope and the cylinders of the hauler. The lower part of his body and his iegs were badly mangled, one leg being fractured. The sufferer was brought to the Te Kuiti HoS' pital, where he lies in a critical condition.
Murray, who was married only six •weeks ago, is the son of a welbknown settler of the district.
