TO-DAY'S ILLUSTRATIONS. MANY TOPICAL FEATURES. Kecenfc events and occasions of public interest are admirably illustrated in this week's issue of the Auckland Weekly Nbws which is on sale to-day. Items from far and near combine to form a particularly bright pictorial section which is sure to make a strong general appeal. Outstanding among local happenings recorded is a splendid series of photographs secured at Devon port when Commodore A. F. Beal was farewelled by members of the Royal Naval Reserve. Keproduced on the frontispiece they make an excellent and lasting souvenir. All followers of New Zealand's national game will bo delighted with a page devoted to unusually good snapshots depicting the All Blacks in action against New South Wales. The enthusiastic send-off to the Maori representatives, who left last week for EVance, is also illustrated. The breeding of trout at Rotorua, to stock New Zealand rivers and streams, is the subject of a most interesting Series which is reproduced on the centre doublepage, together with a striking panorama of the new railway station and yards in course of construction at Auckland.
Among many further topical and scenic subjects are the following Large additions to Wellington City's water supply; a winter holiday at Tongariro National Park; activities "of the Pltmket Society in Dunedin; Palmerston North's new fire station opened} timber-milling on the West Coast, South Inland; fine tribute to noted Maori chief at Whakatane; site of the new Agricultural College; New Zeslanders being trained as aviators with the Cambridge University Air Squadron and the latest news by photography from overseas.
