CALL TO KHANDALLAH.
THE REV. Ft. S. WATSON. FINE SERVICE AT DEVONPORT. The Rev. R. S. Watson, M.A., M.C., of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Devonport, has accepted a call froth the congregation of IChandallah, Wellington. Warm praise for the work of Mr. Watson at. Devonport since he arrived from Dunedin in 1921 was expressed by members of the' Presbytery yesterday. Mr. J. S. Fairgray said that during Mr. Watson's term the church at Devonport had prospered. His departure would be felt as a great loss to all who had come in contact with him. Mr. Watson had spared neither time nor effort .to minister to the needs of the parish and the results of his labours could bo seen in the state of the church and the esteem with which he was held.
Several other members paid tribute to the work of Mr. Watson, who stated in reply that if he-took the line of least resistance he would remain where ho was, but he considered his. action was warranted by his desire for wider service in the Church. r
The Rev. E. R. Harries, of St. James' Church, was appointed moderator of Devonport in the meantime.
