DEVONPORT DOMAIN.
Sir, —A short time since the Devonport Bowling Club enclosed an extra area and Mr. Lamont (Mayor and chairman of the Domain Board) stated that the ground taken in by the club was a portion of the Domain of no use to other clubs and did not interfere with anything. Upon visiting the Domain last week I found this statement to be incorrect, the land in question being mostly part of a road laid out by the Auckland Provincial Government when the present Domain was a school reserve; a read upon which the Borough Council has never spent any money, and is at the present time encroached upon on the eastern side by the bowling green, on the w'estem side by th e football ground, and blocked to vehicular traffic at the southern side by a barrier. These obstructions should heremoved and the public given the benefit of the road E. W. Burgess.
