BANK NOTES.
Sir, —Business people are not satisfied with the banks' decision not to further alter the design of notes. Certain it is that they are not now quite satisfactory. Why not take a hint from the chemists who use a special shape of bottle for poisons, so that oven in the dark a mistake may not occur. Also, there is such a thing as colour blindness, and with notes all one size mistakes are easy. What about making the ten-shilling note square, and larger denominations than the one pound to have a wavy edge line, which would be a warning to. particularly note the declared value. Colour might then be uniform, and the risk of error almost nil. '
