PNEUMONIC INFLUENZA.
CASES DURING WEEK-END. AUCKLAND NOTIFICATIONS. Nine cases of pneumonic influenza and 11 of pneumonia were reported to the Auckland health office yesterday In the Auckland central district there were seven cases each of pneumonia and pneumonic influenza. One case of pneumonic influenza was reported from the South Auckland district, and two cases of pneumonia. In North Auckland one case' of pneumonic influenza and two of pneumonia were notified.
THE POSITION REASSURING, REDUCTIONS IN MANY AREAS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. The infectious disease bulletin shows no increase in the number of cases of pneumonic influenza. The figures for scarlet fever and diphtheria are about on a par with the preceding week. Reports from Taranaki, Horowhenua, Wairarapa, East Cape, Central Wellington, Nelson and Marlborough may be described as reassuring. Reductions are shown in almost every case.
NEW OASES IN CHRISTCHTJRCH. FOUR WEEK-END NOTIFICATIONS. [by telegraph.—press association.] CHRISTCHURCH. Monday. Four ' fresh cases of pneumonic . influenza have been notified for the weekend period of two days, one being in the city and one each at Sockburn, Sumner and Tinwald. There were no deaths for the week ended at noon to-day. There were 29 cases of pneumonic influenza in Canterbury and eight deaths.
