DESTRUCTION BY FIRE.

FELLMONGERY OUTBREAK. DRURY BUILDING BURNED. FORTY BALES OF WOOL LOST. A wool-drying room and store in a* fellmongery in Great South Road, Drury, owned bv Mr. Alexander McDonald, was destroyed by fire about two o'clock yesterday afternoon. Shortly before the outbreak occurred employees were engaged in the room turning wool on the drying racks. When they returned the store was found to be ablaze. Nothing could be done to quell the fire but a bucket brigade was able to prevent it from spreading. About 40 bales of wool, valued at £BOO, were destroyed. .The whole building was insured for £2OOO in the Ocean Office.

SMALL FIRE IN THE CITY. BOOTMAKER'S SHOP DAMAGED. A minor outbreak of fire in an old wooden building in Lower Federal Street was attended by the City Brigade at about 7 o'clock last evening. A room occupied by Mr. W. Lounds, as a boot repair shop was slightly damaged. The building is owned by Mr. W. J. Blakey, of Onehunga. NEW BUNGALOW KAZED. A SOLDIER SETTLER'S LOSS. [by telegraph.—-press association.] ASHBUETON, Monday. A new six-roomed" bungalow on the Wairere soldiers' settlement, Staveley, owned by Mr. A. R. Andrews, was destroyed by fire last night. No one was in the house at the time. It is believed the house was insured.

WOOLLEN COMPANY'S PREMISES. MUCH DAMAGE TO THE STOCK. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Monday. A fire broke out in tho Mosgiel Woollen Company's premises in High Street shortly after 11 o'clock to-night. VVhen the brigade arrived the flames had a strong hold in the basement, and the whole of the stock in that part of the building was destroyed before the fire could be suppressed. The stock on the ground and first floors was considerably damaged by smoke. The insurances are not available to-night, but it is estimated there will be a heavy loss to the company.
