MANUKAU AMATEUR CLUB. RACE WON BY L. DEVLIN, Never headed during the course of the event, L. Devlin hs.d an easy win in the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club's 22 miles race at the Mangere course on Saturday. There were 22 competitors. The race comprised four rounds of the course. At ihe end of the first round the order was:—Devlin, Clover,, Pinker, Chambers, McCallum, W. Rowe. Piatt. Boucher, Commons, Andrews, Vewth, Whelan, Galbraith. B. Clark, Mathieson, Grant, Baker, Blareaway. Whilten and Bray. The scratch men, Casey and Wilson, were riding last, having made no impression on the leaders. Devlin retained the lead the second time round, tho positions being little changed. Wilson punctured, leaving Casey a big distance to make up on the half-minute men. With 17 miles covered Devlin led from Rowe and Boucher, and he went on to win with half a mile in hand. W. Rowe was next, 50yds ahead oi Bray. Detailed results ere:—L. Devlin (8m), 1; W. Rowe (5m 255), 2: W. T. Bray (3(Js), 3. Winner's time, G3m 495. Fastest time was done by Bray with C3m 2a 1-Ss. Blareaway, who rode with Bray, gained second fastest time with 63m 26 2-ss. Next were J. Whitten, with 63m 47 l-5«. and K. Mathieson with f>4m 39 2-sa. The club will bold a 17 miles' race next Saturday. A junior event over approximately 51 miles, will also be decided.

PROFESSIONAL CONTEST. A professional cycling contest over a course of 10 miles was decided at Mangere on Saturday. The race resulted in a win for S. Hayea (scr). who finisned inches owly ahead of W. Archer (3m). The winner's time was 30m 0 ,2-se.
