ELECTRIC POWER CUT-OFF.
ALTERATIONS NEXT SUNDAY. ■ 59 EASTERN DISTRICTS AFFECTED. 1 Users of electricity for cooking' purposes in Remuera and Ellerslie" will have to forego tho customary mid-day hot- dinner next Sunday on account of alterations to be carried out on that day to the electric transmission lines. Reporting yesterday to the Auckland Electric Power Board the general manager, Mr. It,. H. Bartley, stated that in order to erect high tension cables to feed the western end of the Tamaki district it would be necessary to cut off the power supply in the Remuera and Tamaki districts during the morning and afternoon of next Sunday. The power would be restored by 5 p.m. In reply to questions, Mr. Glasse said it would be necessary to take down some of the existing lines and install others of higher capacity. There was no possibility of doing it in sections. The districts from which power would be excluded until 5 p.m. would be Remuera, Ellerslie and Tamaki and a portion of Epsom, the lastnamed for only part of the day.
