NEW ZEALAND V. AUCKLAND. DOMINION TEAM SELECTED. The New Zealand League football team to leave for England on August 14 will assemble at Carlaw Park this evening for coaching by Mr. E. H. Mair. Practices will bo held every Tuesday and Thursday evening until departure. The selectors, Messrs. A. McClymont. R. Stirling. C. Hardingham and Mair have -chosen the following team to represent New Zealand against Auckland at Carlaw Park on Saturday week:— Fullback: JJufty. Threequarters: Or. Gardiner, B. Davidson. L. Brown. [by telegraph.—press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. At to-night's meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League a report that the Mariat B senior team walked off the field on Saturday was denied by the referee. He stated he ordered the Marist captain off for frequently questioning the decisions and two other players walked off with the captain. It was thus impossible for Marists to form a scrum and as it was nearly time he (the referee) blew the whistle and ended the game. The league decided that the captain should attend the next meeting and give an explanation. It was decided to ask the New Zealand council to allow Canterbury players in the New Zealand touring team to remain here till July 31. It was also decided to ask the council to arrange a match in Christchurch for the New Zealand team, HOCKEY. MATCH AT WHANGAREI. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. J WHANGAREI. Monday. Only one competition game was played under the auspices of the Whangarei Hockey Association on Saturday. Mata defeated Kiwis by 3 goals to 2. GOLF. OTAHUHU CLUB. Two inter-club teams' matches were played on the Otahuhu golf links during the weekend. Against Papakura two games were halved, Otahuhu winning nine. A match against Pukekohe resulted in a win for Otahuhu by II games to one, the successful visitor being Brosnahan, who defeated Menzies 6 up and 5. In the four-ball competition. Otahuhu won by 6 to 0. WAITEMATA LADIES CLUB. The Waitemata ladies' golf club will play the monthly medal match in conjunction with the third round of the eclectic match on Thursday, the draw being the same as for last week. The following is the draw for the second round of the eclectic match to be played by first and second year players of the club to-morrow:—Mrs. Fitzpatrick v. Mrs. Johnstone, Miss Wight v. A medal handicap played on Saturday hy members of the Hamilton Golf Club resulted:—W. D. Ross, 88, 10—78; Guy, 90, 10—80; , Walker, 94, 14—80; N. Bell, 92. plus I—B3. In the fifth round of the Bell cup the results were:—Gillies beat Ross; Bellingham beat Wake, 3 and 2; W. Gunn beat D. Hay. The fourth round of the Consolation Handicap resulted:—Wynne beat McFarland, 3 and 1; Alexander beat Pountney, 2 and 1; Fisher beat Sinclair by default. Hogben beat De La Mare by default; Gibbons beat Simmons.
