DRESS ACCESSORIES.

1* lowers are lascinating, and still everyone who likes to bo smart wears a dainty posy in lapel of coat or attached to Iter fur. With the arrival of spring, writes our English correspondent, the auricular and the polyanthus arc first favourites, in varying tones of lavender to deep mauve, and in pink to magenta. The yellow posy is also a favourite, made genorally of a deep-toned marigold. The newest of these flowers—as well as giant carnations arid monster roses—are of feather, but it needs the closest inspection to realise this fact. They aro perfect in form and colour, and run the velvet flower very close. Those who wear the plumage posy say that it keeps unruffled and is an inexpensive etcetera. The multi-hued buttonhole, too is wanted. Again, in details such as these colour runs riot. The well-dressed chooses scarf, shoes and bag to be an exact match, or hat, shoes, belt and posy. The woman of moderate means and faultless can always find a way of getting splashes of colour into an ensemble which may be changed from, day to day, says our correspondent. She chooses her dress and her cape, or coat, in one colour or in two shades of the same colour, and she has trimmings which can be changed; collars, cuffs, waistcoats, jabots, jewels, hats, shoes, gloves, bng r A black, brown, blue, grey, or beige ensemble makes a safe background to bright colours. A black dress may have v gold, silver, red, green, blue, what, you will, a3 a trimming. Brown is now put with rose-pink as well as with all shades of yellow or coral, and some shades of green. And there is always the restful resource of banishing colour for a day to give place to white or cream lingerie collar, cuffs waistcoat or jabot. Here, again, are dainty trifles that wheedle money out of the purse. These lingerie details are so tempting. The collars aro generally Peter Pan in shape—i.e., round—and the flat panel front relieves the plainness of many a dress, while the pretty cuffs are so becoming to the wrist. The materials of these sets are of crepe cie chine, lawn, linen, fancy silks and lace, and their colours are many, though, naturally, the majority are of champagne, light tan, cream, buff or biscuit, all of which go with everything. But if brilliance is wanted, then there are sets in jade, crimson, sapphire and all the other known colours, which generally aro becoming to the neatly turned out modern girl. Rain or shine, the streets look bright, for there are more coloured umbrellas, en-toutrcas, and sunshades in gay colours than there aro in black. And as for rubbered silk raincoats, they are available in all colours of the spectrum, and many are shot and patterned with sprigged designs. Two-colour effects aro seen as well, especially smart white pipings. Further, the up-to-date " mac" has a fluted skirt so as to embrace completely the flared or kilted dress beneath. En-tout-cas for everyday use are mostly still short and stumpy, but if the sticks aro stunted the ideas of the cover-makers are liberal, and they are experimenting now with shaded panels as a variation from the one-tone umbrella.
