NEW DRAINAGE BOARD.

TAH UNA-SPRING DALE AREA. [BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPOND EXT.] MOKRINSVTLLE, Saturday. Over 30 settlers interested in the proposal to form a new drainage board in the Tahuna-Springdale area attended a meeting in the Tahuna Hall, at which' Mr. E, E. Whitechurch presided. There wore also present Mr. 0. Jtf, Campbell, chief lands drainage engineer, Auckland, and Mr. Taylor, resident engineer on the Hanraki Plains. When the proposal to form a drainage board was previously pat forward tho settlers wanted certain improvements made before signing the necessary petition. In outlining what had been done in this connection Mr. Campbell explained his attitude regarding the formation of the board, and also to outlet drains from the Waitoa Board's area. Ho suggested that the Tahuna-Springdale area should join the Waitoa Board, but he was not averse to the settlers forming their own board and he suggested that they should immediately take the necessary steps in this connection. , The meeting agreed to the formation of the board, and all the settlers present with one exception signed the petition.
