SECONDARY SCHOOL GAME.

GRAMMAR BEATS HAMILTON.

SCORE OF SIX POINTS TO NIL.

The secondary schools Rugby match at hiden Park ou Saturday resulted in a victory for Auckland Grammar School over Hamilton High School by 6 points to 0. Although the points were scored from penalty kicks Grammar had an undoubted superiority and fully deserved their win. Hie treacherous nature of the ground prevented a high of play, but nevertheless some ol" the back play was remarkably good. The early exchanges were rather in favour of Hamilton, but after Pratt had failed to kick a penalty goal Jones and Schnauer irained ground by accurate kicking and Grammar assumed the attack. The movement culminated in a penalty goal being kicked by Keepa for Grammar. Mansill and Edwards were hooking the ball regularly for Grammar and their backs were thus able to develop some fine passing rushes which, however, could not be driven _ home. At length Morgan picked up in his? own quarter and made a great run before short-punting past Schnauer. In an exciting race for the touchdown he was just beaten. Grammar were still leading by three points at the end of the quarter. The second quarter saw a marked change in the play as it developed into a forward battle. Better scrummaging and rack play gave Grammar the superiority, but there was no further score at half-time. The forwards were still in the limelight after the interval, Grammar being in the better position. Their backs showed out as the speil progressed. At his fourth attempt Schnauer kicked Grammar's second penalty goal. He was playing a fine gamo at fullback. Hamilton made great efforts to score in tho final quarter, but the Grammar attack proved too solid and they were rarely on the defensive. Their forwards followed close on the ball and smothered the opposing backs, while their own rearguard had plenty of time to initiate movements, Notwithstanding some crisp handling Hamilton failed to make up the leeway, winning by 6 points to 0.

Now, members of the Old Collegians Club press for a further inquiry or threaten to take Police Court proceedings. They contend that the union heard none of their witnesses, of whom seven are ready to give evidence.
