MISCHIEF IN SHOP.
INCIDENT AT TAIHAPE. [BY telegraph.—own correspondent.] TAIHAPE. Saturday. At the Magistrate's Court Edward Leahy was charged with' having damaged a verandah curtain valued at £2 2s 6d and crockery, chairs and doors valued at £2. The proprietor of a shop stated that Leahy had come into his premises and when ordered out made a nuisance of him self, breaking the crockery, etc. After hearing further evidence the magistrate, Mr. R. M. Watson, said that it was a deliberate case of mischief. On the first charge Leahy was fined £5, and costs, £3 lis 6d and on the second another £5, and £3 7s costs
