TEXTILES FROM REEDS.

NEW PROCESS DISCOVERED. REVOLUTION IN INDUSTRY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association;. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 11. Dr. Nanji, of Birmingham University, an Indian who has been trained in science in Europe, and Dr. Paton, of Bristol University, have evolved a process which is to be patented throughout the world, for the treatment of reeds and grasses, enabling them to be made up into a wide variety of textiles. Existing machinery can be used for their manufacture. If the hopes of the collaborators are justified, it is claimed that cotton and artificial silk linen will be ousted by the new and cheaper textiles, which will create an industrial revolution.
