THREE NEW SCHOLARSHIPS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday. Tliroe scholarships of the yearly value of £35, tunable at To Ante College, Hawke's Bay, for two years, are offered for competition this year. One of these scholarships, to bo called the Senior Makarini Scholarship, is open to all Maori, boys under 16 years of ago at the end of November. The other two scholarships, to bo called the Junior Makarini Scholarships, are open to Maori boys under 14 years of ago at the end of November. Ono of the junior scholarships is reserved for competition among candidates from native village schools only. The other is open to Maori boys attending any school in tho Dominion. The examination will bo held in the first week in December.

A special meeting of tho Mercy Guild will he held at St. Mary's Convent, Ponsonby, to-morrow afternoon at 3.30.
