BLIND BOYS' ORCHESTRA.
appeal for instruments.
The formation of a blind boys' orchestra is a scheme which the authorities of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind are hopeful of putting into effect. A professional musician of Auckland has offered his services for the training of the boys, but the purchasing of the necessary instruments is a formidable problem. It is thought that m many Auckland homfs there are n<nv lying idle banjos, guitars, mandolins, cornet's and other musical instruments which, otice taken up with enthusiasm, are now silent and forgotten. Owners of such instruments who wish to help a little in brightening the days of those less fortunate than themselves, would do good service. bv remembering these boys at the Blind Institute and sending the instruments to them.
