GREAT DANCER'S VISIT.

THE PAVLOVA SEASON.

.Anna Pavlova, whose fame as a dancer is known throughout the world, will cast the spell of her art over the public of Auckland on May 26, the first night of her season at His Majesty's Theatre. She will bring a large company of artists, including Laurent Novikoff and a full grand operatic orchestra, which will be under the conductorship of Lucien Wurmser. The event, which will be a memorable one in the history of the stage in the Southern Hemisphere, presents Pavlova and her company in what has been described as a festival of dancing and music, comprising ballets, each of which unfolds a story in itself, solo dances, pas de deux and divertissements. The performance is being transferred to Auckland in its entirety, so that audiences should see these entertainments presented exactly as in London, Paris and other Continental cities, where Pavlova's' success has been one continuous series of triumphs. The name of Pavlova conjures up the supreme art of the dance, delineated by the very spirit of the dance itself. It is said that no artist on the world's stage during the past ten years has so captivated the imagination as Pavlova. Not only does she excel in the art of the dance, but she possesses a magic power of personality that is not the least patent of her attractions. In her dancing she expresses emotions and thoughts that make every movement understandable. Pavlova met with unparalleled success in Sydney and Melbourne, in both of which cities her seasons had to be extended. Her opening performance in Melbourne was a memorable one, the audience, including the Governor-General, Lord Stonehaven, and Lady Stonehaven, and the State Governor, the Earl of Stradbroke, and Lady Stradbroke. Pavlova's triumph may be gauged from the fact that during the two subsequent days the entire theatre was booked for the balance of her season.

Box plans for the season will be opened at Lewis R. Eady and Son, Limited, at 9 a.m. next Friday. A queue will be formed from 8 a.m.
