WARNINGS DISREGARDED.
WELLINGTON MOTORIST FINED
[by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Friday.
Cecil Brendan Quinnell was fined £5 for driving a motor-car over a Petone crossing when it was not clear. Evidence showed that ho disregarded the wh'Stle, the wigwag and the bells, and crossed just in front of the engine.
In defence, defendant said he was in a hurry, but he was certain he stopped before going over, and thought ho had plenty of time.
