ROAD BOARD ELECTIONS.
RESULTS OF THE POLLING. OSTEND AND MT. WELLINGTON. Keen interest was shown in the election of four members of the (Mend Road Board yesterday, when the largest poll the district has known was recorded. Of 750 people on the roll about 250 voted. Four candidates on a Ratepayers' Association ticket were all defeated, the retiring members being returned with large majorities. Details of the voting nro:— Successful.—lJ. G. Garratt, 201: J. 3T. Faulc.onbridgo, 174; T. W. Finer, 166: and H. W. Williams, 159. Unsuccessful: YV. J. Hill. 33: (J. A. Butler, 79; A. Smith, 63; Mrs. M. E. McComb, 73. Hi ere was a fairly good poll at the election of two members of the Mount Wellington Road Board, there being four candidates. Details of the voting are:Successful.—S. Hamlin, 149; A. C. Hare, 116. Unsuccessful: W. Gollan 105: F. Wilson, 18.
