LORRY WRECKS A SHOP.
AVOIDING A COLLISION. CRASH OVER A PAVEMENT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.} PALMERSTON NOETH, Thursday. .An unusual accident occurred in Main Street yesterday afternoon, when a motorlorry, in endeavouring to avoid a collision with a motor-car, mounted the pavement and crashed into the side of a shop, knocking a large hole in the wall and throwing the side of the building out of alignment. It was the half-holiday, but the proprietor was inside, at the time of the occurrence. The shelves were dislodged, the goods being scattered about, while a counter was pushed several feet across the shop and the side of a glass case was shattered. The fore part of the lorry was extensively damaged, the vehicle having to b« towed away. The driver escaped injury.
