About- two-thirds of tliia amount has been collected in Wellington and the Wairarnnii. The New" Zealand Amateur Athletic Association considers tins result very satisfactory. In view of the strain on the finances caused by sending Rose on tour, the council of the association decided that it could not send more than three men to the championship meeting in Brisbane in August, the total cost of which will be £ 150.
