NEW HIGH COMMISSIONER.
FAREWELL VISIT TO CITY.
Sir James Parr and Lady Parr will | leave Wellington by the Rotorua on Saturday of next week for London, where Sir James will take up the position of High Commissioner for New Zealand. The Minister will arrive in Auckland this morning on his farewell visit to the city. During his stay in Auckland he will be engaged mostly in dealing with private business matters, but he has also a number of public engagements. At noon today lie will visit the Point Chevalier school, when a presentation will be made by the children. In the afternoon the Minister will lay the foundation stone of the new Grammar School at Taltapuna, and in tho evening the electors of Eden will tender him a farewell in the Ivosie Theatre, Mount Albert. To-morrow afternoon he will open the new wing of the Wesley Training College at Paerata. Sir James will stay at the Grand Hotel. He will leave for Wellington by the second express on Sunday evening.
