OHINEMURI LICENSES.

ACTIVITY IN RENOVATION. APPLICANTS BUSILY PREPARING. [by telegraph.— own CORRESPONDENT.] WAIIII, Friday. 11l anticipation of the granting of licenses at the forthcoming sitting of the Ohinerauri Licensing Committee, which will bo held at Paeroa early in June, stops arc being taken to alter and renovate premises in Waihi which housed licenses prior to the coming into force of no-license some 17 years ago. f l owner of the Commercial Hotel building is having the property thoroughly renovated, the old portions in which timber had decayed being reinstated. This work will probably bo completed in about two months.

Tenders have been invited for alterations and repairs to both the Rob Hov and Golden Cross buildings, the latter of which was transferred from Golden Cross, Waitekauri, five or six years after Ohinomuri went "dry," and has since served as'a boarding house at the corner of Kenny Street and Rosemont Road. Similar activity is being shown by owikts of former hotels in various parts of (he electorate, arid particularly at Paeroa. where there were. four licensed houses m 1908

The old .Mackaytown hotel is to be removed lo Waikino, where it will lie modernised, altered and extended to meet present, day requirements. .V license will be asked for. It is also reported that there will be applications before the Court for an hotel at Kerepeehi and one at Waitoa, two growing farming areas.
