BAY OF PLENTY ROADS.
METALLING OF HIGHWAYS. TAURANGA COUNTY AT WORK. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J TAURANGA. Thursday. In his report to the Tauranga County Council the engineer stated that 40 chains of metalling had been completed during the month on the TaurangarMatamata highway, leaving about 50 chains of the contract to be completed. The whole work would give a metalled road from the Ngamuawahine River to the county boundary. A survey of the remaining portion in the Te Puna Riding had been completed, and plans were being prepared to be sent to the Hiighways Board. The work of metalling the Pye's Pa portion of the highway has been completed. The metalling of a short length on Nicholas Flat, on the Tauranga-Waihi highway, had been completed, and metalling was now being done on the south end of Munro's deviation.
